About Stephen
I'm passionate about the process of education, and the reasons that we all desire dance. Keeping the goals and reasons at the forefront of the educational process always leads to better results for individuals. Whether you aspire to competitive success, a better understanding of/ relationship with your body, or just a fun way to connect with other humans, partner dance can be a powerful medium for growth.
I strongly believe the best teachers are perpetual students, and I'm constantly learning, updating, and adapting my own pedagogy. I've done everything from take people from no dance experience all the way to seasoned competitor, to running staff training programs and syllabi writing for Ballrooms.

With West Coast Swing being a non-standardized dance, I take a non-dogmatic approach in educating. My preference is to always fit the technique to the student and aim for the best result specifically for them and their bodies and goals. I don't hesitate to switch things up if I feel a certain methodology isn't the right fit for a particular person.
