About Emma

Emma has been teaching piano full-time for 20 years, to students from 5 years, to teenagers, university students, adult learners and retirees. She has a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, an A.Mus.A diploma (piano) and is a professional member of the Ontario Regional Music Teachers' Association. Emma has toured internationally with orchestral rock band 'The Red Paintings', is a cellist with Kitchener Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, has performed with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra and numerous chamber ensembles. She organizes yearly student recitals and prepares students for piano and music theory exams. She is committed to giving her students the best, and most informed learning experience, regularly participating in workshops and events to engage with current pedagogical ideas.

About the lesson

In Emma's lessons, she builds a foundation that encompasses all aspects of music learning and appreciation, enabling every student, from ages 5 to 80, to achieve their own personal excellence.
Emma teaches to your individual skills, while keeping learning enjoyable, as well as an achievable challenge.

Learning music improves memory, language, reasoning, co-ordination, discipline, teamwork, creative thinking and intellectual curiosity.

At whatever age, learning the piano is simultaneously rewarding, relaxing and engaging. Playing the piano gives you time to yourself, your own goals and enjoyment in hearing the end results.

Emma is a great teacher. She has been teaching for a long time and has lots of experience. She was quickly able to assess my level, set a goal for me and devise a strategy to reach that goal. She did all of this by taking into consideration my circumstances and preferences.

She is very punctual as she always reaches my home a few minutes before the appointment. She's also friendly and easy to talk to but also professional.

She teaches me Piano specifically. She helps me with Piano fingering, phrasing, nuance, music theory and auditory skills. She even recommended some exercises for strengthening my fingers.

All in all, I strongly recommend her as she is a great teacher.
