About Alex

I am a professional pianist and keyboard player with many years of experience performing and teaching. My work as a musician has taken me across the UK and internationally, performing at concerts, festivals, private events and with a wide variety of bands and artists.

Alongside my performing career, I have taught piano and keyboard for over ten years, both privately and in schools. I hold the CT ABRSM (Certificate of Teaching) from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

I am passionate about helping students develop not only their instrumental skills, but the confidence, musical ear and understanding that allow them to become more independent musicians.

I bring the same qualities to teaching that I value in professional music-making: listening, adaptability, preparation and, above all, enjoyment of making music.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to what you want to achieve as a musician. Alongside technique and reading, I place particular emphasis on developing your ear and understanding how music actually works — harmony, chords, rhythm, improvisation and arranging.

I can help you learn how to find chords by ear, understand the structure of a song, create your own piano or keyboard parts, accompany other musicians and become more confident finding your way around the instrument without always relying on written music.

I am a professional pianist and keyboard player with many years of teaching experience, both privately and in schools. I hold the CT ABRSM (Certificate of Teaching) from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, and I continue to work professionally as a musician in the UK and internationally.

For students interested in keyboards, I can also share practical experience of choosing and shaping sounds, arranging keyboard parts and making them work effectively in a live band.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, online, and are suitable for adult beginners, returning players and more experienced musicians. They are relaxed, practical and shaped around the music you enjoy and the kind of player you want to become.
