About Ryan
I am an Audio Engineer with over a decade of experience in recording, mixing and mastering music of many genres, but specialising in rock and metal. I previously worked for the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music (part of the University of Newcastle) before relocating to Melbourne. I have a Bachelor of Music degree, and an Advanced Diploma in Music Technology, and have worked with over 70 bands from 8 different countries. I have mentored many students over the years, but only started teaching online in 2020. My students have reported results as soon as after their first lesson, giving them much more confidence in their mixes.

I believe that every student is different, and learns in a different way. I aim to find where their strengths and weaknesses are, help to fill in any gaps in their knowledge, and create good habits when they approach new projects. Rather than teach shortcuts and hand out cheat sheets, I teach repeatable processes and methods that can be applied to any given situation.
