$40/hr is a baseline. If we have ongoing lessons - if I find that the student is committed to working harder on their own, and only needing my help in clarifying, or even asking my help to steer them to effective resources, I am willing to negotiate lower fees. This isn't my primary source of income. I do legitimately want to be the best resource. I enjoy teaching... some of this material can frighten a student away. But I am cognizant that I have had to face down each of these mathematical concepts... and would very much like to guide them and motivate them.
