About Alex
I lived in Italy for eight years in the 80s. Now, it has been about thirty years that I have been fluent in Italian, both written and spoken. I travelled the country from North to South and any other directions for work. At the time, I worked for Italian publishing companies in Milan. This means that I spoke with people from different social & professional backgrounds. It was the best school ever, in terms of learning about a country. It helped me enormously to understand their mentality, their way of life, their psychology in terms of initiating business talks or just dealing with their family matters. I learnt what makes them laugh, and also what makes them cry too. I certainly enjoy their vibrant culture and I mastered their concept of what it means to be Italian in their eyes. Today, Italy is my second home because I maintained constant contacts with my friends over the years. As a result, it is daily present in my personal life.
