About Anna
I am an actress and filmmaker and have been living in London for more than 12 years now, so this city is really my home. I currently have a bit of time on my hands while I wait for my film to be released internationally. I have experience as a TA and supply teacher. Prior to that I have worked quite a lot as a freelance face to face interpreter. My background is classical studies and humanities, on top of acting / filmmaking. There is no such thing as one method fits all when learning any subject. For every different type of learner (visual, auditor or kinaesthetic) one teaching method may be much more effective than another. First, I like to understand the main reason for the student to want to learn the language and the level they are starting from. Once that's been addressed, I like to come up with a tailored plan that we both agree upon and try to make the teaching as seamless as it can be. Teaching the basics of a language (grammar rules), without immediately finding a payoff for what has been learned can be detrimental. Putting things in context and keeping them engaging can help keep the motivation alive and growing.
