About Daniel

I graduated with a mathematics bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in 2017, and I participated and won numerous awards in high school Math Olympiads in both US and Canada. I've tutored my peers through HS and College, and recently I worked as an Options Trader for a year.

About the lesson

I believe that the most important way to enjoy math is to figure out how to approach a set of problems, instead of just going through the problems. Instead of solving the puzzle with you, I like to guide you such that you can figure it out on your own, and apply that methodology to similar problems in the future. I will go over concepts as many times as you need.

Other than that..I try to have the student tackle the problems at home if possible, so we can utilize the tutoring time going over concepts.

In both classes it was immediately clear that 1) he was a superior mathematician to myself, and 2) he possessed all of the qualities necessary in a quality instructor. He took as much time as needed to thoughtfully break down complicated concepts into bite-size, easy-to-understand ideas that resonated with me. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking to learn from a patient, logically-structured thinker (be it math or otherwise).
