About Vicky
Through my 11 years of studying Japanese, I've found a real passion for the Japanese language, and hope to become a lecturer in Japanese in the future. Having been someone who struggled with confidence earlier on and having built that confidence over the years, especially through studying Japanese, my passion is to help others to gain confidence through language learning also. If I can help you to become more confident with speaking, writing, reading or listening in Japanese, or even just in communication in general, I consider that an achievement of my aims.

My lessons will always be tailored to your individual needs, whether this relates to a specific course, areas that you're looking to improve on, or a specific exam. I also like to encourage students to engage in the language in any way that interests them, which can be anything from studying films to music, books or games, let's explore what it is about Japanese that really interests you, and find some ways to include it in our learning!
Lessons are always at your pace, so whether it's repetition, practice questions or talking through problems that helps you study, we can work together to ensure your confidence and understanding of the subject. The length of the lesson will be around an hour each session and will be clearly structured to help boost confidence.
I have been studying Japanese for 11 years now, and have built a robust set of study skills as a result. I've also got 3 years of tutoring experience, in a variety of settings.
My lessons are mainly aimed at those who already know a little Japanese, up to and including Intermediate level for an undergraduate course, however, if you're an absolute beginner in Japanese and want to get started, I can help you achieve a good level of basic Japanese, as well as help you to develop the study skills necessary for progressing with the language.
