About Ibuki

I am an experienced Japanese teacher who can teach Japanese to a range of students who are in different levels; from beginner to advanced-level students. I also teach Japanese as an academic second language and help students to prepare for their A-Level・IB examinations. My goal is to make students enjoy learning the Japanese language and cultural aspects of Japan alongside grammar, writing, reading, and speaking.

About the lesson

I have a handful of handmade resources for all levels, that can be adapted and be used for any student. My teaching method will differ based on the student's needs and goals, whether it is spelling, writing or grammar.

Our very first lesson was very smooth. The student was a complete beginner so we started with going over the Japanese characters, hiragana and katakana. Since the student told me that she wanted to focus on conversation, I started with some easy phrases that can be used to greet someone and introduce yourself to them.

Perfect! Ibuki is a great tutor with a good approach to teaching a 14 y old. She is helping my son to prepare to Japanese GCSEs and he is progressing well. He finds her lessons challenging and enjoyable. They complement the school coursework well. I would definitely recommend Ibuki to anybody wanting to improve/learn their Japanese.

Our very first lesson was pretty productive. The student was clear about what he/she doesn't understand. We used example exam questions and I guided the student throughout the lesson by constructing example sentences with different plain forms (grammar structures). The student is willing to improve and is enthusiastic about learning the language. Hope to continue throughout the year :)
