About Hayden

Kids and self-taught teens often find their fingers wandering aimlessly across the keys until they discover the logic behind jazz harmony. The scent of old wood and worn sheet music from my early days at Belmont University still lingers in my memory whenever I sit down to play.

Earning a BFA in Music Industry provided the technical backbone for the 12 years of gigging I have completed since graduation. I focus heavily on chord voicing and hand independence to ensure that students feel grounded. Developing sight reading skills and fluid scales takes time, but the reward is complete control over the instrument. My approach blends dynamics and expression with ear training to create a well-rounded musician.

Accompaniment skills are essentially the bread and butter of what I do. Sight transposition often feels like a magic trick to observers, yet it remains a reachable goal. I enjoy seeing students move past the initial hurdle of playing simple arpeggios. Music is simply a language that I have been speaking for a long time.

About the lesson

Simple melodies often hide the most complex musical truths waiting to be discovered. Focusing on your specific goals allows us to build a unique path toward piano proficiency. We integrate music theory into every session to ensure that you understand the underlying structure of your favorite songs. My background at Belmont University informs how I simplify difficult sight playing techniques for any level of student.
