About TSHEPO
I’m a Johannesburg-based Creative Writing and Literature undergraduate with a genuine love for stories, language, and teaching. I’ve always believed that reading shouldn’t feel like a chore — it should feel alive, relevant, and worth caring about.
I’m patient by nature and enjoy finding creative ways to help learners connect with texts. This includes discussion-based lessons, visual explanations, and short creative films that break down themes, characters, and ideas in a way that actually makes sense. My goal is to help students feel confident, curious, and capable; not overwhelmed.
I work mainly with primary and high school learners, supporting them in comprehension, literary analysis, essay writing, poetry, and drama. Whether a learner is struggling or simply wants to improve, I meet them where they are and build from there.
At the heart of my teaching is the belief that when students care about what they’re reading, their marks, and confidence follow naturally.

Teaching Style & Approach
My approach to private tutoring is patient, creative, and learner-centred. I believe students engage more deeply when they care about what they are reading, so I use imaginative and accessible methods to make texts feel meaningful rather than intimidating.
Alongside discussion and close reading, I create learner-centred visual materials and short creative films that help explain themes, characters, and literary concepts in a clear and engaging way. These visuals are designed to support different learning styles and help students better understand and remember the material.
I focus on understanding before memorisation, guiding learners to build strong comprehension, critical thinking, and essay-writing skills. My background in Creative Writing and Literature allows me to approach poetry, drama, and prose both analytically and creatively.
I teach in English and adapt each lesson to the learner’s pace and confidence level.
In a typical lesson, students can expect:
A calm, supportive learning environment
Clear explanations supported by visual and creative material
Practical work on comprehension, essays, or exam preparation
Encouragement to ask questions and engage with the text
My lessons are aimed at primary and high school learners, especially those who struggle to connect with English and literature or who want to improve their confidence and academic performance.
