About Josh
Josh is a freelance musician & teacher based in Liverpool having completed his Advanced Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2018. He received his Masters at the same institution and Bachelors at the Birmingham Conservatoire. Josh began playing the recorder from a young age before taking up lessons on the piano, violin and eventually finding the oboe.
He has experience of playing with numerous orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic & Orchestra of Opera North and has taken part in the Professional Experience Schemes with both the Hallé Orchestra & City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.

Josh has previously taught as oboe specialist for the Trafford Music Service and now operates a private teaching practice from his home for students of all ages!
Josh has a 100% pass rate through the ABRSM Syllabus but believes that it is important that the students chooses the exam board that suits them best. Prior to beginning lessons, Josh will help students navigate sourcing the right instrument for them, alongside discussing which reeds will suit the oboists best, and will provide a checklist of all other essentials to ensure they can hit the ground running and have as much fun as possible!
