My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, goals, and current level. I align sessions with the Australian school curriculum and closely follow what they’re learning in class, so our work directly supports their progress at school. Whether it’s reading the same texts, preparing for upcoming assessments, or reinforcing key concepts, I make sure every lesson feels relevant, structured, and purposeful.
I also draw on a wide range of trusted teacher resources, alongside my own experience as a journalist, to design engaging and practical activities. Lessons might focus on creative writing, persuasive writing, comprehension, or building confidence in reading and analysing texts. Everything is adapted to suit the student—helping them not only improve their skills, but also feel more capable and confident in their abilities.
One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me is seeing children grow in both skill and confidence over time. Watching a student go from feeling unsure or hesitant to expressing their ideas clearly and proudly is incredibly fulfilling. I love building that sense of progress with them—celebrating the small wins, helping them push through challenges, and ultimately seeing them realise what they’re capable of.
I have been tutoring on and off for the past ten years, and I've helped year six students get into selective high schools.
My classes run for a minimum of 1 hour, and a maximum 1.5 hours.
