About Juan

Hi, I’m Juan! Outside of teaching, I’m all about adventure—I love hiking, cooking up Spanish dishes, and getting lost in a good book or movie, especially ones that dive into different cultures. But what truly lights me up is teaching Spanish.

I started teaching because I wanted to share my passion for language and culture. Growing up, I always loved how language connects people and opens doors to new experiences. Teaching lets me do just that—help others discover not only the beauty of Spanish but also the rich stories behind it. Watching my students gain confidence and start speaking fluently is like a victory we share together!

For me, teaching is about creating a fun and supportive space where everyone feels encouraged to learn and explore. I love weaving in games, songs, and real-world conversations into lessons, making learning both effective and enjoyable. There's something special about seeing students light up when they finally grasp a tricky concept or speak confidently for the first time. That’s why I do what I do—it’s more than a job, it’s my passion!

About the lesson

As a Spanish tutor, I believe in the power of personalized learning. Each student comes with their own pace, interests, and challenges, so my goal is to tailor lessons to fit their unique needs. Whether it’s mastering grammar, improving pronunciation, or building conversational fluency, I focus on creating an environment where students feel comfortable to ask questions and make mistakes without fear.

From casual dialogues to exploring Spanish-speaking cultures through music, film, and history, I aim to make learning both relevant and engaging. I also enjoy incorporating students' interests—whether it's sports, travel, or hobbies—into lessons, helping them connect with the language on a personal level.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of tutoring is witnessing the "aha" moments when a concept clicks. It’s not just about teaching vocabulary or grammar rules; it's about guiding students to think in Spanish, helping them gain confidence to speak naturally. My tutoring approach is flexible, encouraging growth through positive reinforcement and making each session both productive and enjoyable.
