About Robertwil

Over 8 years of teaching guitar, I’ve found that the best approach is one that balances skill-building with creativity and motivation. I customize lessons to each student’s interests and learning preferences, ensuring a strong foundation in technique—proper finger placement, smooth chord changes, steady rhythm, and timing. I introduce music theory in a practical and accessible way, often using songs that excite the student to demonstrate concepts. I encourage creativity through improvisation and songwriting, helping students express themselves and develop their own style. One of my proudest moments was working with a student who overcame rhythm challenges to perform confidently in a small band. Technology tools like loopers, backing tracks, and recording apps help make practice fun and effective. Most importantly, I cultivate a supportive and patient learning environment where students feel empowered to take risks and grow. Whether your goal is casual enjoyment or serious musicianship, I’m here to guide you on your guitar journey.

About the lesson

Teaching Guitar is about more than transferring knowledge — it’s about helping people connect to music in a real, meaningful, and empowering way. I approach each lesson with the belief that learning should be driven by curiosity and creativity.

Instead of forcing a fixed curriculum, I start with your interests and build everything else around that. If there’s a song you love or a style you’re curious about, we’ll dig into it. I show you how the music works so you can recreate it, understand it, and even make it your own. This way, theory
and technique become tools for creativity — not roadblocks.

I believe motivation is built from within. That’s why I focus on making lessons feel rewarding and progress feel real. You’ll hear and feel the improvements in your playing, and that keeps the momentum going. When we run into something challenging, we pause and investigate together. I never brush over problems — I help you understand the core issue and give you tools to work through it, so that each breakthrough feels earned. I give honest feedback that’s always grounded in encouragement. You’ll always know what you’re doing well and what we’re aiming to improve — with no pressure, no comparison, and no judgment. I stay flexible in how I teach, because every student learns differently.

Some people want to read music, some want to jam by ear, and some want to write original songs. All of those are valid, and I adjust my teaching to fit what works for you. I also offer support beyond Guitar — from beginner music theory and songwriting to improvisation and stage confidence. Whether you’re here to strum casually or dig deep into your musicianship, I’m here to guide you in a way that feels authentic, engaging, and tailored to you.
