About Alana

I am a conservatoire-trained professional actress, graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York; I regularly sit on the audition panel of the Adler and Los Angeles sister acting school (Art of Acting Studio). I also have a Master’s from LAMDA, with distinction, and over 12 years of professional industry experience on both sides of the pond.
Acting and communication are my greatest passions. I derive great satisfaction from helping people gain confidence as artists and human beings. Empowering you to find your voice is incredibly moving and satisfying work for me.

About the lesson

I coach actors at all points in their careers, both complete beginners and professionals, offering audition & self-tape coaching, LAMDA exams tutoring, career guidance, agent progression advice, and honing skills for both stage and screen acting.

I tailor every coaching session individually to your needs. I am passionate and excited about helping you find your voice and ground your presence as an actor.
I encourage free expression, commitment, and authenticity. Going for it is going to serve you greatly in this industry- I offer a safe, empowering place for you to push yourself as an artist and a communicator.  My work includes the following:  
• Acting coaching for all levels.
• General audition technique.
• Script analysis: modern & classical.
• Shakespeare and classical theatre: Understanding verse & prose and gaining ownership over the text.
• Self-tape preparation/screen audition preparation.
• Preparing for Drama Schools auditions and other acting courses.
• LAMDA Exams tutoring at all levels *(working with children- Full DBS clearance).
• Mentoring beginning and professional actors: Career progression/ Approaching agents/ Headshots & CV/ Spotlight layout. US and UK market experience.
• Understanding acting technique foundational tools- working with circumstances, character and scene objectives, freeing the voice and finding character physicality, breaking down actions and obstacles.
• Public speaking, communication & confidence coaching.  I work either online via Zoom and can travel within London and East Surrey for in-person sessions.
