Hi there. My name is Jeannie and I’m a language teacher from South Africa. I have been teaching for over seven years and have experience with a diverse range of people and children. While volunteering at an NGO, I spent time working at an orphanage and kindergarten. Thereafter I taught music privately while completing my BA degree in Language and Culture. I made acquaintance with a specialist Remedial Therapist and Montessori Teacher. She taught me a lot about left and right brain learning and the shortcomings of education in mainstream schools. I learned about developmental progress and what is required to stimulate a child’s learning. I speak French, Afrikaans and English and have assisted children from all over the world to prepare for their exams and reach their personal goals. When I enter a classroom, I go in with the attitude to learn, for I find that the children often end up revealing a secret I may have forgotten. For the least among us are often the greatest. After COVID it was hard to get students back on track. They were disinterested, distracted. Jeannie has a way with them. A small video or a quote and everyone is ready for the lesson. I am very grateful to be able to work with her.
