About Caitlin

My name is Caitlin, a Spanish-speaking enthusiast and educator with over 14 years of experience teaching and coaching languages with a focus on oral expression. I studied Spanish from a young age and throughout college, but it was living and working in Chile for 10 years that solidified my skills in speaking and sparked a deeper understanding and appreciation of the language. I love Spanish and helping my students feel empowered and excited to continue growing their skills. I feel a great sense of joy being a part of their journey and witness as they evolve into confident communicators. When I'm not teaching you can probably find me cooking for loved ones, studying holistic health and nutrition, playing with my pup, doing yoga, spending time at the beach, going to concerts and traveling.

About the lesson

There are 3 intentions driving all my Spanish conversation lessons: that they are engaging, offer value and leave students feeling more confident than when they started. Through a personalized approach I base lessons on each individual's interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses. My current and previous students have often thanked me for helping them overcome their insecurities and have been pleasantly surprised that learning could be both productive and enjoyable. Some popular topics we might discuss include health and wellness, travel, music, lifestyle, sports, philosophy, family, social issues and so much more. Consistency is key to learning a language, which is why I encourage my students to continue practicing between our lessons with optional 'homework' assignments such as watching interviews, reading articles and interpreting songs.
