Even though I’m not a complete beginner, I have been having pattern cutting lessons with Andrea since the beginning of the year to improve on my skills as I’ve always been self taught. I’ve realised when it comes down to garment making, being ‘self taught’ can be quite a slippery slope where you find yourself normalising bad sewing and construction habits.

Since January I’ve had the pleasure in working under the guidance and professionalism of Andrea, who has many years of experience of being a certified seamstress and pattern maker. Working with her has allowed me to re-learn pattern cutting techniques that are of high standard and have also helped me gain a new level of confidence in my work.

Andrea’s patience is remarkable; she tailors her instruction to each student’s needs and projects, offering invaluable design insights and effectively managing lesson time for maximum benefit.

I had 3 classes with Andrea and they were great! I’m a complete beginner and she taught me how to shorten different trousers, skirts, how to take in at the waist, etc. she’s also very calm and kind, and lets you drive the class as want so you can make the most of the time together. Would definitely recommend her as a teacher!

I met Andrea few months ago and I absolutely love her approach to teaching. She is kind and patient but first of all she knows her craft ! Highly educated in her field. Andrea has been tutoring my 11yo daughter for 6 mths. Some cute and really well made projects have been turned out in next to no time, but most importantly, my daughter loves the sessions and it's about the only thing she will do for 2 hours solid that doesn't involve tech! Highly recommend Andrea, both for her skill but also as a lovely teacher.

Andrea is a fabulous teacher. She is very skilled but more than that she is calm and patient. Her lessons just flew by. I would highly recommend her. I did 3 hour lessons which I would also recommend as we could achieve a lot.

Andrea has been an absolutely wonderful weekly seeing teacher for our 9 year old daughter who is a keen seamstress in the making. Andrea is patient, thoughtful, kind and always brings such a lovely energy to our home. She always has new ideas for projects and adapts her teaching style with lots of innovation and flexibility.

Andrea has been brilliant since the first class! Her enthusiasm for sewing is infectious and she is always full of ideas for a new project. She has helped me improve my sewing with her gentle and positive coaching and now I am taking on projects I never thought possible. She has a fine eye for detail and is also a great problem solver, giving me tips and tricks for how to amend things if I go wrong.
Andrea really understands her clients' individual style and needs and she always goes above and beyond, even picking up little extras like lining and adornments for me to use in my projects.
