About Noah

Hey! My name is Noah Long. I've been a 3D artist for a little over 10 years, 6 of those professionally.

I've worked in the game industry through a variety of roles including, Character Artist, Environment and Prop Artist, 3D Generalist, 3D Animator and Art Lead. I'm an expert with a number of programs including, Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter and Designer, Unreal Engine 4/5, Unity, Godot, and numerous Adobe programs. Additionally, I have a bachelor’s in Game Art from Full Sail University.

I've always said that the art in a game is the words in a book. Everything you see is put there for a reason. It's all part of the story. I want to teach you how to tell your story in the best way possible!

About the lesson

From beginners to experts, everyone has room to learn! My lessons are designed to be useful for those who have never touched a 3D modeling program in their life, and to those who have years of experience.

3D Modeling | Depending on skill level we start off with UVs, topology, software understanding. Then we move into shape, form, and design. By the end we get into texturing your models, learning to bake high to low poly, retopology, understanding normals, and more!

Animation | Depending on skill level we start off with key frames, timeline, and poses. Then we move on to in-between frames, squash and stretch, and pushing the pose. Finally, we'll get you to expert level with graph editing, complex posing, and asymmetrical animation.

Sculpting | Depending on skill level we start off with blockouts, basic brush knowledge, building form, proportion, and silhouette. Then we move into sculpting detail, dynotopo, and remeshing. Finally, we'll end things off with alphas, advanced brush features, high-res sculpting.

The greatest thing one can do is learn more. My lessons are a judgement free zone where anyone can come to grow their skills. I provided quick, advanced feedback that tells you where you're strong and what we need to work on more. Whether you want to create epic weapons, gnarly creatures, awesome characters, or gorgeous environments, I will be there every step of your artistic journey.
