  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Arabic fluently not only because it is my native language, but also its my passion to learn the Quraan language in addition to my expertise goes far beyond being a native speaker. I hold a Master's degree in Arabic Language and have been teaching Arabic to learners of different backgrounds since 2008. Throughout my teaching journey, I have developed effective methods that make learning Arabic enjoyable, practical, and accessible. Teaching Arabic is not only my profession but also my passion, and I take great pride in helping students achieve their language goals with confidence."
  • 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?

The number of influential figures in Arabic literature and linguistics is countless, but perhaps we can mention just two examples from the modern era: would choose Naguib Mahfouz as an emblematic representative of Arabic language and culture. As the first Arab writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, he introduced readers around the world to the richness of Egyptian and Arab society through his novels. His works beautifully capture everyday life, human emotions, history, and social change, while showcasing the depth and expressive power of the Arabic language. Through his literary legacy, Naguib Mahfouz continues to inspire readers and learners who wish to explore Arab culture and literature."

Taha Hussein, often referred to as the "Dean of Arabic Literature," a prominent historical figure who embodies the richness of the Arabic language and culture. His writings, intellectual contributions, and dedication to education shaped modern Arabic thought. He symbolizes the power of knowledge, the beauty of Arabic expression, and the importance of lifelong learning—values that continue to inspire learners of Arabic worldwide.
  • 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

Arabic is really unique language I cant say only one phrase but the most I like is our greeting 'As-salamu Alaikum' (Peace be upon you). It is the most common greeting in Arabic-speaking communities and carries a beautiful meaning of peace, respect, and goodwill. I appreciate how this simple phrase reflects important values in Arab culture, such as kindness, hospitality, and caring for others. It is more than just a greeting—it is a sincere wish for peace, and I believe it represents the warmth and humanity that make Arabic language and culture so special.
  • 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

Speaking Arabic matters deeply to me because it is not only my native language but also my field of study, my profession, and my passion since my childhood . With a Master's degree , phD studying, working in linguistics projects in Arabic Language and many years of teaching experience since 2008,lst me go deeply and feel the beauty of this language. I have dedicated my career to helping others discover the beauty and richness of Arabic. I believe that language is a bridge between people and cultures, and teaching Arabic allows me to share an important part of my heritage while empowering students to communicate confidently and connect with the Arab world. Arabic is very unique and different language
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

One of the main difficulties in learning Arabic is becoming familiar with a new writing system and understanding the differences between Modern Standard Arabic and everyday spoken dialects. Some students may also find Arabic pronunciation challenging at first because it includes sounds that do not exist in many other languages. However, with the right guidance, consistent practice, working on all skills and exposure to the language in real-life contexts, these challenges can be overcome successfully. I believe that interactive lessons, regular conversation practice, and a supportive learning environment are the keys to making the learning process both effective and enjoyable. One of the main difficulties in learning Arabic is becoming familiar with a completely different writing system, where letters change their shape depending on their position in the word and are connected when written. Beginners may also find Arabic sentence structure challenging, as Arabic uses both nominal and verbal sentences, which can differ significantly from the patterns found in many European languages. In addition, Arabic verb conjugation and root-based word formation may seem unfamiliar to learners at first.

Another challenge is pronunciation. Arabic contains several unique sounds, particularly some throat and emphatic letters, that do not exist in many other languages and may require practice to master.

However, these challenges can be overcome with the right guidance, consistent practice, and a step-by-step learning approach. Interactive lessons, regular speaking practice, exposure to authentic Arabic, and clear explanations of grammar and pronunciation help students build confidence and make steady progress. With patience and dedication, learners often discover that Arabic is both fascinating and highly rewarding to learn.
  • 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

My love for the Arabic language began with my father, who instilled in me a deep appreciation for it from a young age. I discovered my innate talent for Arabic as a child, which manifested in my writing style during school composition classes. I also made sure to read age-appropriate stories and novels, which enriched my vocabulary and imagination.

In addition, I participated in the school radio program, where my voice stood out and I enjoyed presenting. I also participated in poetry recitation competitions, which allowed me to appreciate the beauty of poetic imagery. I helped my classmates understand some grammar rules, which enhanced my understanding of the language. I was always curious to learn the meanings and structure of the vocabulary in the Holy Quran, which further fueled my passion for Arabic. These early experiences played a significant role in shaping my passion for the Arabic language and my career path as a teacher.
  • 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

My pride in my Egyptian nationality made me passionate about learning about my country’s long and diverse history spanning thousands of years. I visited many Egyptian places rich in heritage and culture, including ancient Egyptian, Coptic, Roman, Islamic, and Arab cultures, as well as modern ones. I often met tourists from different countries who came to be impressed by that ancient civilization. And even more so, those who contribute to performing Umrah. Despite the presence of an Arabic-speaking environment, what resonated with me wasn't the participants, but rather the cultural and spiritual diversity I experienced. I met Muslims from different backgrounds and walks of life, all united by the Islamic culture and values of Cologne, despite their different languages and dialects. Many of them had learned Arabic and conversed with me during that sacred journey. This experience helped me understand how to influence the broader Arab element within the wider Muslim world.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in language?

What makes me a distinguished professor of Arabic is a combination of a strong academic background, extensive teaching experience, and a deep personal passion for the language. This experience allows me to assess each student's level and develop a personalized study plan tailored to their learning goals during our initial meeting. My Master's degree in Arabic, my doctoral research, my involvement in numerous linguistic and lexicographical projects, and my experience teaching Arabic to non-native speakers since 2008 have enabled me to work with learners of diverse ages, levels, and cultural backgrounds.

Over the years, I have developed a flexible and student-centered teaching approach that adapts to each learner’s needs and goals. I focus on making Arabic clear, structured, and enjoyable by breaking down grammar, simplifying complex rules, and encouraging active communication from the very beginning.

What also distinguishes my teaching is my ability to connect language with culture, helping students not only learn Arabic but also understand its cultural and human dimensions. I am patient, supportive, and committed to my students’ progress, and I take great pride in seeing them gain confidence and fluency step by step. And also distinguishes is my understanding and respect to the other cultures. For me, teaching Arabic is not just a profession—it is a lifelong passion and responsibility.
