• When did your passion for belly dancing begin?

  My interest in this form of dance started in 2005 during a trip to Tunisia when a local friend started showing me the first moves and I heard the beautiful sounds of Arabic music. I have always been fascinated by Arab countries and their culture and I have studied Arabic for 3 years at University. I immediately fell in love with this form of dance and the history and cultural importance it has in those countries. It is fascinating.
  
  I started attending belly dance classes in Italy in 2008 and started performing at events after a couple of years. When I moved to London 4 years ago I continued to follow my passion, attending various classes, performing at events and teaching online or at home.

• Could you tell us a little more about this type of dancing?

  Bellydance is a beautiful form of dance, which originated in Ancient Egypt. It is now known all around the world and has been influenced by other forms of dance, too. I like belly dancing because it is suitable for all body types, ages and fitness levels. It involves low impact exercise that strengthens core muscles and improves flexibility. It also helps to improve coordination and posture through elegant and harmonious moves.

• Why is important to teach your passion?

  I love teaching belly dancing because it makes me feel free, relaxed and in harmony with my body and I would like other women to feel the same when they dance, no matter their body type or fitness level. Everyone can start belly dancing and through continuous practice, everyone will see immediate results in their mood, body and soul. It is empowering and relaxing.

• What does a platform like Superprof mean to you?

  I work full time and often travel for work around Europe and Asia so Superprof gives me the opportunity to teach wherever I am without having to say no to the requests. It gives me the flexibility I need to still be able to find the time to do what I love doing: teaching belly dance and inspiring women to love themselves and feel confident in their bodies.
