About Jessairra

As a Bachelor of Secondary Education graduate and an experienced crochet artist, I teach crochet through a patient, structured, and hands-on approach. My lessons are designed to help beginners build confidence by learning one skill at a time. I explain each technique clearly, demonstrate the stitches step by step, and provide guidance as you practice.

A typical lesson begins with learning or reviewing essential crochet techniques, such as holding the hook and yarn, basic stitches, reading crochet patterns, or understanding pattern abbreviations. We'll then apply these skills by creating a small practice swatch or beginner-friendly project, helping you gain confidence before progressing to amigurumi, bags, home décor, or wearable pieces.

I have experience completing crochet commissions and enjoy creating amigurumi, bags, mats, as well as knitting handmade cardigans.

My lessons are ideal for beginners, hobbyists, teenagers, and adults who want to learn crochet or knitting in a supportive, enjoyable, and creative environment.

About the lesson

This beginner-friendly lesson focuses on understanding crochet patterns with confidence. You'll learn common abbreviations, stitch symbols, pattern structure, counting stitches, and helpful tips for avoiding common mistakes.
