About Ryan
I have been a professional artist for 20 years. I have shown work at various galleries, shows and markets in Los Angeles, New York, Portland and Denver. I am both self-taught and atelier trained. Meaning I have studied classical theory and techniques, as well as figured it out the hard way. So I can help you avoid some of the common challenges in learning and growing your art. I have a B.A. in Communication and a M.A. in Psychology, which has given me a background in teaching techniques and theory, so I have an approach to teaching other art tutors won’t have.

I am an atelier trained fine artist, with over 20 years professional experience drawing and painting. I provide customized lessons to meet you at your level, and help you learn the skills and techniques to meet your goals as an artist. Lessons would include a combination of live demonstrations, discussion, critique of your current work and homework, and then dedicated time for you to work on an assignment. If desired, we can include regular homework assignments if that helps you get deeper into the work and stay focused.
