About Joshua

I’m Josh, a marine and conservation biologist from Cape Town and a tutor with five years’ experience. I learned French myself as an English speaker, using the Imaginative Learning System, the method I developed for learning complex subjects quickly.

That’s my advantage over a native speaker. I know which parts of French feel strange to English speakers, which rules really matter, and the shortcuts that helped me progress faster.

About the lesson

Who it’s for
Adults and teens starting French or picking it back up, up to advanced intermediate (B2) level. Ideal if you’re planning a trip, studying French at school, or just want a new language.

How a lesson works
- Picture it: vocabulary tied to images and scenes, not word lists
- Story it: grammar explained with analogies and comparisons to English and other languages
- Recall it: speaking, listening, writing and pronunciation practice from day one

Mistakes are welcome. You’ll practise in a relaxed space, without pressure.
