About Ali
As a native French speaker and trilingual educator fluent in French, English and Arabic, I combine linguistic expertise, academic training and intercultural awareness in my teaching.
I studied at the University of Toronto, where I worked for two years in the French Department on a research project examining French acquisition by native Arabic and Chinese speakers. This research focused on language teaching and learning processes, giving me solid expertise in second-language acquisition and research-based instructional strategies.
During my time at the University of Toronto, I also served as a leader in a Facilitated Study Group (FSG), where I mentored and guided students in French. In this role, I developed structured lesson plans, supported diverse learning styles, and strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly while managing group learning effectively.
In addition, I worked for two separate years as a private French tutor in Egypt, teaching students of various ages and backgrounds.
I also taught primary school French at Lycée International Balzac, where I specialized in building strong foundational skills in grammar, reading, writing, and pronunciation.
My students have included multilingual learners and students with learning disabilities, allowing me to develop adaptive and inclusive teaching strategies.
Having traveled to Egypt, Senegal, China, Poland, Hungary, Italy, and Zambia, I have developed a deep understanding of different cultures and an open-minded, globally aware perspective that enriches my teaching.
