About Gavin
Who am I? I'm just like you. Normal people can become traders - I did.
I'm an everyday trader who has been involved in the markets for more than 9 years. I'm not a professional fund manager or a trading guru — I'm just someone who has spent a lot of time learning, experimenting, making mistakes and trying to understand what actually makes a trading approach sustainable.
I've traded different markets, strategies and platforms over the years, including both my own trading and prop-firm accounts. I've experienced the highs of good runs and the frustration of drawdowns, broken rules and strategies that looked great on paper but didn't work as expected.
That's really where the idea behind Hindsight Trader came from. Looking back at trades is easy — the challenge is using that hindsight to make better decisions next time.
I really enjoy talking about trading, analyzing charts and discussing why trades work or don't work. After so many years of learning through experience, I've realized that I genuinely enjoy helping other people make sense of their own trading. Teaching also gives me the opportunity to share the lessons I've learned — including plenty of mistakes I'd rather not see someone else repeat!
I genuinely love what I do. Trading has become something I'm fascinated by rather than something that feels like work, and I've always believed that when you find something you enjoy doing, you shouldn't feel like you're working a day in your life.
Whether you're a complete beginner or already have some experience, I'll work with you on your trading rather than trying to sell you a magic strategy. My aim is to help you develop a better process, understand your mistakes, manage your risk and become a more disciplined trader.
