About Aayush

I have UG and PG degrees in Hindustani classical music (vocal) from Faculty of Performing Arts, the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (Gujarat). Also, I compose and write songs and currently working with my band (Fusiona) as composer, writer, singer, and rhythm guitarist. Apart from vocals, I professionally play acoustic and electric guitar too and can teach both vocals and BASICS of guitar. Also working as a vocal coach in "ARTIUM ACADEMY."

About the lesson

The basics should be clear for Indian classical training, and that is why I focus on it more than any other things. Learning is a fun process, and after clearing it, we can go to some complicated things. ;) And once the basics are clear, we can go to the other genres like light classical, Bollywood, ghazals, etc. Keen observation and firm determination are a must in this subject. :)

Perfect! Aayush is an excellent singing instructor. He makes great use of analogies during singing lessons to help you understand (and correct) your notes. He also lets you pick a Bollywood song and in each session, he gives you pointers about techniques to make your song sound better.

Another great thing about Aayush is that he is very reachable through WhatsApp for any questions (not just about singing exercises but anything related to signing in general). Aayush also introduces new and fun things in his sessions to keep things interesting. For example, we practiced a song Karaoke-style during a session!

Perfect! Ayush sir has been always very patient and best motivator. As a teacher he molded and adapted the lesson based on my own level. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
Well I started singing from my school time when my parents noticed and encouraged. I joined music classes and that's how the journey started. I participated in several competitions and won some prizes. It always feels like I am doing what I can do the best and with full passion. That's why I chose music to build my career and joined music college and completed my UG and PG degree in it.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
All my gurus are the main motivation for choosing to teach this subject because I felt like it's a kind of stress relief when you learn and achieve something new. and music itself is a meditation which freshens up our mind and soul. So what is better to do if you have an option to teach which makes peace for everyone.
How does your work help society?
Well, Yes, music itself is a medicine. And in this pandemic there is so much negativity all around the globe and there are only a few things we can do to relax our mind and body. Many people join me just to relax themselves from their work load and the negativity spreading around in the atmosphere. This is one kind of discipline in itself which improves your personality and helps you to become a better human being.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
Well, to be honest, here I have so many role models. First all my gurus and then some legendary artists and teachers like Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar ji, Pt. Jasraj ji, A.R Rehman, Shankar Mahadevan ji, etc. and they all are not only great in their performance but also in teaching too. Many good singers and performers learned under them and now they have their own name and personality.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I like to perform in live concerts too and apart from music I like trekking and have infinite love for mountains. I can say this is one of my main hobby after music.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
I have so many! But still, I have one student from Canada who cant even speak proper Hindi but came to me to learn Indian music and right now singing proper Hindustani classical music ( Khayal Gayki) and is surprisingly doing better than my Indian students.
