About Tasha

Hi, I’m Tasha—a native Indonesian speaker with a background in media and education. I worked for over 10 years as a radio announcer and MC, and I’ve also taught voice and communication at university level. I hold a Bachelor’s in Public Relations and a Master’s from the University of Queensland. Now based in Brisbane, I offer Indonesian lessons that are practical, fun, and culturally rich. I focus on real-life conversation and everyday informal language, so you can speak naturally and confidently. Whether you’re learning for travel, work, or personal interest, I’d love to support your journey in mastering Bahasa Indonesia!

About the lesson

My Teaching Approach As a native Indonesian speaker with a background in broadcasting and public speaking, I focus on making language learning engaging, practical, and culturally relevant. My teaching blends conversational practice with grammar and real-life Indonesian usage—including everyday informal language, which is how most Indonesians speak in daily life. I believe language should be lived, not just memorized. That’s why I incorporate cultural insights, slang, and expressions you won’t always find in textbooks so you can speak naturally and confidently in real conversations. Whether you’re preparing for travel, connecting with Indonesian friends or family, or working with Indonesians professionally, I’ll tailor the lessons to fit your needs. Lesson Format Each lesson typically runs for 60 minutes, but I can adjust the duration based on your preferences and learning pace. Lessons are available in person (Brisbane) or online via Zoom. Qualifications and Experience I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a Master’s in Development Practice from the University of Queensland. I’ve worked as a radio announcer, MC, and voice technique coach, and I also lecture on communication and voice presentation. My experience in language, media, and education gives me a unique perspective on how to teach Indonesian effectively and enjoyably. Who Are My Lessons For? I teach all levels—from complete beginners to advanced learners—whether you’re a child, teenager, or adult.
