About Kanako
Hi! I'm Kanako, a native Japanese speaker from Tokyo, currently living in Montreal, Canada for 3years.
In my lessons, we focus mainly on speaking Japanese and improving your conversation skills.
Whether you're learning Japanese for travel, work, anime, JLPT preparation, or simply for fun, I'll create lessons that match your goals and interests. I can explain grammar in English when needed and will help you build confidence in speaking naturally.
My lessons are friendly, patient, and interactive. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes because that's how real learning happens.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy photography, films, and travel in the world. I love sharing not only the Japanese language but also the customs, expressions, and cultural nuances that make it unique.

Goal: Build basic Japanese conversation skills Hiragana & Katakana basics Greetings and self-introductions Everyday phrases and useful expressions Basic grammar (particles, verb forms, sentence structure) Ordering food, shopping, asking directions Simple conversations about hobbies, family, and daily life
Focus: Speaking practice and building confidence from the beginning.
Intermediate Level (B1–B2)
Goal: Speak Japanese naturally in everyday situations Conversation practice based on real-life topics Improving pronunciation and natural expressions Expanding vocabulary Japanese culture and communication styles Casual vs. polite Japanese Discussing movies, anime, news, and personal interests
Focus: Becoming more comfortable expressing your thoughts in Japanese.
