About Gertrude Anita
I am very perseverant and teach from the perspective of our own body experiences. The approach I find is very natural. All the sensations we experience in our body while singing are not that far away from the experiences we all feel while for example diving under water, playing tennis or as a matter of fact sneezing or coughing. The body will make very similar sensations. We just have to become conscious of our body. Singing shouldn’t be so much different. We all are born with the sensations as the first thing we do when we come to this world is inhale, have a short apnea that compresses the cords just enough and then we can let the singing or shouting out with a continuous balanced air flow. The inhale is very important as it expands the body and it brings oxygen to all the muscles we will eventually use. The appoggio is also a very important step as it balances the right amount of cord compression. Like learning with how much pressure to put the bow on the violin cords. I’m so passionate and eager to teach you sing and be centered in your body. Before we learn to fly we need to learn to align and be centered in our body. Looking forward to meet you!

20 years of stage experience, singing in the most important theaters worldwide. 7 years of teaching. Speaking English, German, Spanish, some Italian. I usually teach a work session of 1h and a half. Technique and interpretation need all that time.
