About David

I am an award-winning BMI composer, performer, and proud graduate of Berklee College of Music with over 20 years of professional experience in the music industry. My background is diverse, spanning genres from jazz to classical, and I specialize in piano, keyboard, and music theory. My original compositions have been featured in prestigious concerts, and during my time at Berklee, I received a Certificate of Honor for Outstanding Achievement in Directed Study.

Currently, I’m the keyboardist for the band Dirt Poor Robins, which keeps me actively engaged with the modern music scene. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching piano, voice, and music theory to students of all levels, helping them grow not just as players, but as complete musicians. My teaching style blends technical mastery with creativity, ensuring students can not only play but also understand and express themselves through music.

I’ve also worked extensively in film scoring, sound design, and music editing, including a nine-year tenure with Shutterstock, where I became one of their top composers. My experience across performance, composition, and education allows me to offer students a well-rounded musical journey, whether they're looking to master the fundamentals or explore improvisation and songwriting.
