About Maria

Hi, I'm Maria! I'm a native Russian speaker and a professional language teacher with over 12 years of teaching experience.

I have a master's degree in language teaching from Moscow State Pedagogical University (MPGU) and a bachelor's degree from Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU).

My background in language education has given me a solid understanding of how people learn languages and how to teach them effectively. I enjoy finding ways to explain difficult topics clearly and helping students overcome the things they struggle with.

I'm also a language learner myself. I speak English and Spanish at C1 level and French at A2, so I know what it's like to study a foreign language, get confused by grammar, or struggle to find the right words.

What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students gradually become more independent and comfortable using Russian.

About the lesson

You'll get a clear learning plan, plenty of practice, and online flashcards after every lesson.

I like my lessons to follow a clear structure, but that doesn't mean doing the same things with every student. I know from experience when it's better to slow down, spend more time on a difficult topic, or try a different way of explaining something.

Speaking is an important part of my lessons. We also work on grammar and vocabulary, but I don't want you to just understand the rules — I want you to be able to use what you've learned.

I use structured coursebooks alongside interactive exercises, games, and videos. We regularly review what we've covered to help you remember it in the long term.

After each lesson, I send online flashcards to help you remember new vocabulary. I also assign and check homework, with explanations of any mistakes.

My lessons are suitable for complete beginners, intermediate students who feel stuck, and advanced learners who want to improve their fluency. I also teach Business Russian and prepare students for the TORFL exam.

And please, never hesitate to ask questions or tell me when something isn't clear. We can always go over it again!
