About Alec
My background sits at the intersection of finance, AI strategy, cloud infrastructure, and hands-on product building. I currently manage and teach AI Finance and Strategy at a rapidly growing tech startup, where I focus on how AI products actually work financially, including token costs, model usage, cloud spend, margins, pricing, and unit economics.
I have deep experience translating complex technical and financial concepts into clear business decisions, and I regularly work on questions like how to scale AI products profitably, how to evaluate infrastructure trade-offs, and how to understand the real cost of AI usage.
Beyond finance, I am hands-on with modern AI tools and coding workflows. I use tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and other AI coding harnesses to prototype products, build workflows, improve analysis, and create practical systems from scratch. That means I can teach AI from both sides: the strategic business side and the practical builder side.
My goal is to help students and professionals understand AI in a way that is useful, current, and connected to real-world work, whether they want to improve productivity, analyze data, build products, understand AI costs, or become more confident using AI tools.
