About Neelima
I am a portrait artist, specialized in oils. I thoroughly enjoy making portraits of people, capturing the likeness and bringing each personality to 'life'. I have worked on numerous commissioned realistic portraits using techniques used by old masters and would love to share my expertise.

I offer online one-on-one art classes for learners above 10 yrs where we would learn the basics of oil painting and work together on a portrait of your choice. No prior art experience needed.
1. Introduction to supplies/mediums and other art materials
2. Difference between chroma, color and values and how to control them.
3. How to transfer a portrait to canvas
4. Process and structure to creating a portrait painting from start to finish, starting with an underpainting.
5. How to bring your portrait painting to completion
Student would need to share digital copy of photograph to be painted ahead of session. Introductory topics can be skipped or customized upon request if the learner is not a beginner. Each lesson would be of 1.5 hours and some time outside the class would also be required. You should have your hand made portrait ( 12 x 16 " would be ideal) ready by the end of 4 sessions on an average, depending on the pace if the student. In case the portrait is not complete by 4th session, we can have a 5th one free of charge.
