About Eric
I have a Ph.D. in Near Eastern languages from the University of Chicago, where I studied Hebrew, Aramaic (including Syriac), and Greek. I have an intimate knowledge of Christian history and theology, both of the East and West, as well as advanced studies in ancient and medieval Judaism. I have been reading Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic for over 20 years, and I am eager to share my experience and passion with you.

Develop an intimacy with the Scriptures by sharing my passion for the original languages of the Bible. I teach all levels of students from absolute beginners to those who have already studied the language but would like to brush up or go deeper.
-Beginners will take approximately 30 lessons to reach the equivalent of a year of university-level instruction completing the basic grammar and vocabulary.
-Intermediate students will learn advanced syntax and vocabulary while reading texts in the target literature. Approximately 30 lessons will be the equivalent of a second year of university study.
-Advanced students will learn historical grammar and textual criticism, read more difficult texts both in and outside of the Bible, and explore techniques in exegesis and exposition. Approximately 30 lessons will be the equivalent of a third year of university study.
