About Abirami
I am a passionate and dedicated tutor with a strong academic background in medical imaging, management, and clinical and cognitive neuroscience. I genuinely enjoy teaching and helping students build confidence in subjects that may initially feel challenging.
I have experience taking classes and supporting students with their learning, and I always aim to create a friendly, patient and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
My long-term goal is to pursue a PhD and become a university lecturer, so teaching is something I am genuinely passionate about and hope to continue throughout my academic career. I believe that good teaching is not just about explaining a topic, but about understanding each student's needs and finding the approach that works best for them.

My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging and tailored to each student's individual needs. I teach GCSE Science and Maths, focusing not only on understanding the content but also on building confidence in applying knowledge to questions and exams.
I can adapt lessons according to the student's level, whether they need help understanding difficult topics, strengthening their foundations, preparing for exams, or simply having regular support with their studies.
I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions, so I aim to make every lesson a positive and encouraging experience. My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling that they understand something better than they did before.
I also offer Tamil lessons for school-age students, including beginners who would like to start from the basics.

I know Abirami through her work as a tutor, as she has taught my brothers maths and English. Abirami is a very patient, caring and dedicated tutor who takes the time to explain things clearly and makes sure her students understand before moving on. She did an amazing job teaching my brothers, and I noticed a real improvement in both their understanding and confidence. She is very encouraging and creates a comfortable environment where they feel confident asking questions. I would highly recommend Abirami to other students because she genuinely cares about her students’ progress, is reliable and always puts in the effort to help them achieve their best.
She explains maths clearly and makes difficult concepts easy for all kinds of students to understand.
She is patient, supportive, and helps students build confidence in maths.View more recommendations
