Super tutor

Hiro is one of our best Japanese tutors. High-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Hiro

I have taught Japanese in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, China and the UK, in many different places and to people from all around the world. Teaching is my great passion and it is something that I enjoy very much. I still remember the day when one of my students, who was a complete beginner, won a speech contest at the beginning of my career as a Japanese teacher. I absolutely love teaching Japanese to young students in the UK! I have also taught Japanese to children of Japanese heritage, both at schools and privately. I have also given a crash course seminar on Japanese to athletes before their tour to Japan. DBS checked.

About the lesson

I take a variety of approaches, depending on the needs of the student. Children can have lots of fun and experience Japanese culture while learning the language. For beginner and intermediate students, I ensure that grammar is understood and practised, and is followed by encouraging conversation in the context of each student's life and situation. I believe that applying what you have learnt into speaking is very important! Advanced students who want to increase their vocabulary are encouraged to discuss topics of their own choice or those that I have prepared for them.

We feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful Japanese teacher for our children. Hiro is kind, patient, and encouraging, which helps my kids feel comfortable and confident in every lesson. At the same time, she is persistent and thorough, making sure they truly understand rather than just moving on quickly. Her lessons are well prepared, engaging, and tailored to their level.
Thanks to her teaching style, my children are not only improving steadily in Japanese but also genuinely enjoy learning the language. I would highly recommend her to any parent looking for a teacher who combines professionalism with warmth and dedication.

My son has had one to one Japanese lessons after school with Hiro for 2 years. Hiro has really inspired his love of the Japanese language and culture. He always loves his lessons even after a very long school day. It was his choice to start lessons and he really loves the fact that it’s private and he can dictate the pace. Highly recommended.
