About April

I'm Geng, English name April, I come from Beijing, China. I can teach you to speak authentic and standard Mandarin or Beijing dialect:) I worked in British Embassy where Chinese is a foreign language to my most of colleagues for 4 years, so I have the empathy, patience and knowledge to teach students who want to learn Chinese. I also completed my MBA master degree in the UK, so we will have no problem communicating in English if needed. I am approachable and friendly and I like to make friends. Apart from teaching, in my spare time, I like dancing, skiing and travelling. I have travelled to nearly 20 countries, thus I have strong sense of inclusiveness and adaptability to people come from different countries and with various culture background. About the lesson

I am a certified Chinese teaching tutor. I have passion, patience and knowledge to teach and help students to learn Chinese. My typical length of lesson from half an hour to one hour depends on students' bookings. My student group is diverse, from children to the elderly, from beginners to intermediate and advanced levels. I can follow the textbook materials teaching for the Chinese exams, or I can just help you improve speaking and listening skills for real-life practice. No matter what the situation is, my teaching method is to develop personalised plans for each student based on their needs. At the beginning or the end of classes, I will communicate in detail and comprehensively, keeping in mind the goals the students want to achieve and their feelings after taking the class. I will treat every student as my friend, know where their learning pain points are, and help them overcome them one by one. I believe learning a language takes time and experience, let’s explore together in the ocean of culture while having fun!
