About Cona

I have many hobbies and interests so I'm sure that we can find something to talk about. The plus side is I'm always looking to learn more about other people.

I've taught in many different capacities both in Australia and overseas including: after school programs for children, tutoring math, English, science, and reading, team leading community engineering projects, swim teaching, beach safety, surf teaching, and several other niche categories. This covers adults to children.

I love traveling and currently on a +1 year journey traveling through South and Central America. Language learning is a strong interest of mine. Being able to uncover culture that lies hidden beneath language barriers

But to give you an idea of everything that gives me excitement in this life it's: surfing, traveling, bikepacking, playing music (I play keyboard), rock climbing, swimming, reading (sci-fi, fantasy, adventure, psychology, self-improvement, manga), writing/journaling, video games (Nintendo kid), going to the cinema, cooking (learning new cooking skills around the world is incredible), meditation, thought-provoking conversations.

If there is something I don't understand, I want to learn it. So I can see if I want to keep it around in my roster of daily joys, or simply to talk about it with others.

About the lesson

I am a born conversationalist and love getting to know people.

I apply this to my lessons allowing you to relax and enjoy yourself in a comfortable environment. I am never in any rush, the lesson is for you, and I am here to make sure of that.

I have been traveling South and Central America for over a year now learning Spanish, and I know how different it is between book smarts: reading and writing, to social smarts: speaking and listening. You feel your book smarts are way more advanced than your social smarts right?

I can create lesson plans to your liking, although there isn't much to plan around conversation; I will make sure we never run out of that. Reading and writing activities I'm guessing is something you're already good at, so let's stick to the important stuff and get you confident!

Australians are very good at matching the speed and level of non-native speakers. I've found in all my years traveling and attempting to learn other languages that no other country quite understands when you're struggling. It's like they steamroll over you. I'm here to make sure you get the listening and speaking practice you need
