About Maarten Florian

I have been teaching languages for more than 10 years and have set myself the goal of passing on my passion for languages to my students. I have worked for several institutions in Germany, China and the UK. I am currently working as a lecturer in German as a foreign language at Heidelberg University.

Learning a new language is a rewarding experience for lots of different reasons. Maybe you have found a job in Germany and are required to learn our language or improve the language skills you already have. Or, perhaps English is all you need for your professional life, but you have decided to learn German for personal reasons. You may want to study at a German university and need to know German at a certain level for that.

Perfect! In German Maarten tutored my son for about a year and was a great tutor. Unfortunately the schools in our area don’t offer German so my son ultimately decided to change focus but I would use Maarten again in a heartbeat. He established a good rapport and kept Luke engaged.
