About Charissa

An articulate performer and a balanced teacher, Charissa has inspired audiences and students around the world. She holds an A.R.C.T. (Associate of The Royal Conservatory of Music) in piano performance and has contributed to many musical communities around the world through her artistic musicianship and intuitive pedagogy. She has enjoyed musical collaborations with ballet studios, choirs, individual soloists, and chamber groups, as well as providing pro bono services to community groups and international development projects. She has been sharing her learning approaches to strong musicianship & enjoyable practice with students around the world for 20+ years.

About the lesson

Piano lessons should be interesting & challenging with lots of fun. The real deal is that learning something new can sometimes get a little bit difficult, but at the studio, you've always got someone to help you out & you're never going to be stuck for long!

My students have successfully completed Conservatory Canada & RCM exams with top marks, competed in local & provincial competitions, & performed on stages in their local communities. I am just as proud of my students who love their music in the safety of their own living rooms.

A traditional lesson structure may not be the right kind of motivation or learning style for you which is why there are lots of different options for learning music in the studio. You'll love learning through weekly challenges and connecting with other musicians in the studio through our online learning platform: students love our Piano Points, Listening Challenges and fun events during the year.

The studio regularly performs a diverse range of classical, traditional, and modern repertoire. Composition Camp is a core part of the studio's unique programs, providing musicians with the opportunity to grow their OWN music each year. I am a proud mentor to many amazing composers and their compositions.

Students can join at all levels & grades. I have taught for over 20 years, on 4 different continents with my youngest student at 3 years of age and my oldest . . . well, he wouldn't say.

Students are learning music, exploring their own creative instincts, building their understanding of the language of music (also known as "theory"), and playing some seriously amazing music every day . Want to ace your piano exams or wow in performances? Want to enjoy the fun of playing with others or just enjoy the ability to make music out of your own ten fingers? You should join us!
