About Alice
As a teacher who genuinely loves the craft of creative writing, I see each lesson as an opportunity to unlock the unique voice within every student. Writing is not just about putting words on paper; it's about discovering new ways to express thoughts, feelings, and stories that might never have been told before. In my classroom, I encourage an atmosphere where creativity thrives—whether it's through crafting compelling characters, experimenting with poetic forms, or exploring the rhythm of language in unexpected ways. We dive into different genres—be it short stories, poetry, or personal essays—always emphasizing the power of imagination, observation, and emotion. I believe in the magic of writing as a tool for self-expression, healing, and connection. There's something incredibly rewarding about watching a student’s eyes light up when they realize that they’ve brought their inner world to life on the page. It's not just about perfect grammar or structure—it's about creating meaning, experimenting with ideas, and, most importantly, finding joy in the art of writing. These lessons offer an exciting journey into the art of storytelling, wordplay, and self-expression. These lessons invite learners to explore the endless possibilities of language, helping them develop the skills to craft compelling narratives, evoke emotions, and communicate ideas in uniquely personal ways.
In these courses, students experiment with different genres—from short stories and personal essays to plays and screenwriting—learning to weave together plot, character, dialogue, and setting. They are encouraged to discover their own voices while gaining an understanding of literary techniques such as imagery, symbolism, and pacing. Poetry, with its rhythm, meter, and depth of emotion, offers a special way to explore the nuances of language and meaning, often packing powerful imagery and emotions into a few short lines.
