About Siel

Hi, I’m Siel! I’m a Japanese tutor and a language learner myself, so I know how exciting—and sometimes confusing—learning a new language can be. You don’t have to understand everything right away, and you’re always welcome to ask me to explain something again!

I’ve taught over 30 students, each with their own interests, goals, and learning pace. That experience has taught me how important it is to get to know the person behind the textbook. I want to understand what motivates you, what you find difficult, and what makes you excited to keep learning.

I take your progress seriously while keeping our lessons relaxed and welcoming. We’ll work through tricky topics step by step, revisit things when you need to, and celebrate the little moments when Japanese starts making sense.

I love anime, music, and games, so I’m always happy to hear about your favorites! I’d love to get to know you and help you make Japanese a part of your everyday life.

About the lesson

You don’t need to know a single word of Japanese to get started! My lessons are a friendly space where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at your own pace.

I combine textbooks with anime, games, and YouTube videos to help you understand Japanese and enjoy using it. We’ll build your grammar and vocabulary step by step, then practice with conversations and examples connected to your interests. Tell me what you love, and we can bring it into our lessons!

I’ve taught over 30 students, including fans of Oshi no Ko, Vocaloid, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Ado, Mafumafu, Great Teacher Onizuka, Naruto, Apex Legends, Valorant, Deadlock, and Dota 2! I love getting to know what you’re into and bringing those interests into our Japanese lessons. Tell me about your favorite anime, music, or games—there’s a good chance we’ll have something in common!

A typical lesson starts with a little review, followed by something new and plenty of practice together. We might explore a grammar point, read a short dialogue, or listen to a clip and work out what the characters are saying.

My lessons are especially suited to beginners and learners who already know some basics but would like more guidance and speaking practice. Whether you’re learning for travel, your favorite shows, or simply out of curiosity, you’re welcome here!
