About Mason
I am a biology graduate with four years of experience as a research assistant and laboratory technician, as well as experience tutoring mathematics. I began tutoring as a trained tutor in the public school system in North Carolina, and I now provide personalized virtual tutoring in biology and math for students across multiple grade levels. My lessons are patient, engaging, and tailored to each student’s learning style, helping them strengthen their understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and build lasting academic confidence.

As an experienced biology researcher, laboratory technician, and mathematics tutor, I help students understand difficult concepts instead of simply memorizing answers. I provide personalized virtual tutoring in biology and mathematics across multiple grade levels, adapting each lesson to the student’s learning style, academic goals, and current level of understanding.
1. Check-In and Warm-Up — 5 minutes
We review the student’s goals and complete a short confidence-building problem or question.
2. Personalized Instruction — 15 minutes
I explain the concept using clear examples, visuals, real-world applications, and step-by-step guidance.
3. Guided Practice — 15 minutes
The student works through problems with support while learning strategies for solving similar questions independently.
4. Student Challenge — 10 minutes
The student completes a short “Level-Up Challenge” to earn points toward rewards such as choosing the next practice activity, receiving a homework hint, or unlocking a bonus review game.
5. Review and Progress Plan — 5 minutes
We summarize what was learned, identify areas for improvement, and create a simple plan for continued success.
Each session should leave you with stronger subject knowledge, improved problem-solving skills, greater confidence, and practical study strategies that you can use independently.
