About Alyx
I am an experienced English teacher with 6+ years experience, offering specialist written support for GCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature.
My service is designed for students who want detailed, personalised feedback on their written work without needing to attend live online lessons.
Students can submit schoolwork, homework, essays, exam-style responses and practical questions for marking. I can also provide resources for further practice. I will provide clear, written feedback identifying strengths, areas where marks are being lost, and specific steps the student can take to improve. I can provide this feedback live on a shared document and model how to improve, or I can work through after completion and return it within 24 hours.
This can work particularly well alongside school lessons and revision, giving students regular individual feedback. Students who may benefit the most may be those who have a busy schedule and can't necessarily find a set time for live tutoring lessons, or even students who struggle with anxiety and may not feel comfortable on camera, or getting verbal feedback live.

My lessons work a little differently from traditional online tutoring.
Rather than attending live sessions, students submit their work for detailed, personalised marking and feedback. Discussion will take place through annotated comments on work, and/or a Google Chat chain in which conversation can take place.
