About Jasper

Having achieved 4 A*s at A-Level, including an A* in Economics, I am studying Politics and International Relations BSc at University College London from September 2026. This foregrounds my teaching in the contemporary macroeconomic and institutional context necessary for top-mark application at A-Level.

If I were to recommend two things to any student: read the Financial Times (which you can access for free via your school email), at the least to understand the key macroeconomic development for the application and example sections of your essay structure. For a perspective beyond the exam-board specification, read Richard Thaler's Misbehaving and Kate Raworth's Doughnut Economics as the strongest evaluations and judgements come from students who can explain how the underlying theory might not necessarily apply to the question in front of them.

I'm currently conducting investigative financial search into a corporate governance, involving mapping structures, financial analysis, and creating briefings on how economic incentives and ownership actually shape institutions and their behaviour. This is direct application that shapes how I explain theory.

During my A-Levels, I also co-lead our student events team, managing a self-raised budget of £18,000.

About the lesson

Sessions focus on a combination of theory, application with tailored that allow students to score top marks. I tailor this content to the OCR specification, building sessions around where students' specific weak points are.

This includes structured past paper practice with Socratic and detailed written planning to develop exam technique: constructing an evaluative argument with graphs and real-world evidence for maximum marks.

Each student starts with a review to identify specific weak points, and lessons are structured around plugging those gaps rather than re-teaching content you already know.
