I take a structured but adaptable approach to tutoring, aiming to build both confidence and strong exam technique. My lessons focus on breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps, while also encouraging independent thinking—especially important for subjects like English Literature and Economics where analysis and evaluation are key.
In English Literature, I guide students through close textual analysis, helping them develop strong arguments, embed quotations effectively, and refine essay structure to meet top mark band criteria. For Maths, I emphasise clear method, repetition, and exam-style practice to ensure accuracy and confidence. In Economics, I focus on developing chains of reasoning, real-world application, and evaluation skills—essential for higher-level answers.
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes. This usually includes a quick review of previous content, focused teaching on a specific topic, guided practice, and exam-style questions with feedback. I also adapt lessons depending on the student’s needs—whether that’s reinforcing core knowledge or pushing towards top grades.
As a current A-level student studying English Literature, Economics, and Mathematics, I am very familiar with the latest exam specifications and mark schemes. My experience includes academic competitions such as Mock Trial, Model United Nations, and the Junior Trader competition, which have strengthened my analytical thinking and communication skills. I have also gained professional insight through work experience with a Member of Parliament, a law firm insight day, and other placements, allowing me to bring real-world context into my teaching.
My lessons are suitable for primary and secondary school students, particularly those preparing for GCSEs, as well as younger students who want to build a strong academic foundation. I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and are motivated to improve.
