About Ollie

I hated maths! Well… at least I thought I did. Back in Year 9 I was stuck in foundation maths. One day the teacher was covering a topic I actually found interesting, but I just couldn’t focus — too many distractions in the classroom (as usually happens in school). That’s when I worked out something important: if I watched videos at home and caught up in my own time, I could actually understand it. And the more I understood, the more I realised I loved maths. I pushed myself out of foundation, finished GCSE with a Grade 7, and just two years later walked away with a B at A-level Maths. That journey is why I tutor. I know what it feels like to be lost in maths and think “this isn’t for me.” But with the right teaching and a bit of encouragement, everything can click. I also know what it’s like not to be able to afford extra help. When I was at school, I couldn’t afford a tutor — so I make my lessons as cost-effective as possible. And if price is ever a problem, just let me know. I’d rather see a student succeed than miss out on learning.

About the lesson

I start every lesson by asking carefully chosen questions to understand each student’s current ability in maths. This helps me identify any gaps in their knowledge and break concepts down into clear, simple steps. By focusing on the fundamentals, I guide students to close those gaps, building their confidence and strengthening their maths skills over time. As a trained actor, I bring energy, creativity, and fun into every session—making lessons engaging as well as effective. Students enjoy learning with me, and parents regularly share positive feedback about the progress they see. I’m fully qualified and have helped many students improve their grades and confidence. To make things even easier, I run a WhatsApp group where parents can simply tick their availability each week. This keeps scheduling simple and stress-free.
